Jr. IBU Trip Day 4

I’ve been traveling, course prepping or racing over the last five days. Today I took it easier and focused on my shooting at the range.

There’s always a sausage and egg option at breakfast. This morning we also had the chance to try a goat cheese pastry. The hot chocolate here is the best that I’ve had. We’ve been trying to take advantage of the European chocolate as much as we can.

Because all of the girls races start in the afternoons this week, we also have been leaving for training in the afternoon which leaves time for us to have lunch before we head off to train. Today’s lunch was great! I am not sure what kind of pink cabbage I ate but it tasted great! (maybe slightly pickled with a hint of garlic?). The cajun chicken was also a great pre workout food.

It was a small blizzard when we arrived for training and the fog rolled in as we left. It was a great practice day to prep us for any conditions tomorrow. It still looks like it is going to rain on us but my fingers are crossed!

We had both time and energy to go exploring for a little while this evening! The first place we went was to the bank to finally exchange some currency! The next place was the store where I got some German chocolate for $2.00. There are a bunch of small shops along the streets selling pastries, donuts, and other traditional goods! Tonight some of us stopped to get a spiral roll that can be rolled in a topping of choice and filled with Nutella. It looked so delicious that I plan to stop here as a treat after the sprints!

Tomorrow will be the first of three sprint races of this trip! We will ski the same 2.5k course as yesterday but tomorrow only three times with just two shooting stages (as opposed to five times with four shooting stages). I’m very excited to experience the sprint race for the first time on a world stage!
